You can only get EXP points in leagues or tournaments, so I’m guessing you’ve been playing friendlies..
Play a league season, and although you may not do as well as you would like, you’ll get a lot of experience and by the start of the next season you should be able to challenge for the title.
Also play in some tournaments, the prizes are pretty good and you get a boost in EXP by plaing there too.
