I was playing through FFX-2 again recently when i realised, Square must have regretted people letting the name Tidus in FFX, because now constantly throughout FFX-2, they have to refer to Tidus as Him, what do you think?

Well, if they had called him by name it certainly would have answered my question: How do you pronounce his name?
I pronounce it Tie-dus. I wonder how they would have pronounced it…

:ponders the answer to that question:

when i first got the game, i pronounced it tie-dus…but i saw him in an interview(james arnold talor, the guy that deos his voice) and he pronounced it Tea-dus…..so i pronounce it Tea-dus now…

they refered to tidus as;

him
that young man
and you-know-who in 10-2…i think they regret it!

at the end of the good ending, when he speaks there is no name, just the subtitles(words, no name)

I think they didn’t put the name because some people, such as myself, change his name in FFX. If they used the name "Tidus" it might be confusing for those acustomed to their user created name for him. I know no one is really that stupid, but there could be some very slow people out there saying "Who’s tidus? I thought his name was (whatever)" Get my point?

Well, although it may it slightly difficult to constantly refer to him, it would ruin the tradition if you couldn’t rename the main character.

I’ve always pronounced it Tee-dus because before the game came out, I saw a trailer and the narrator pronounced it that way. James Arnold Taylor also pronounced it like that. I found it weird when I first heard someone pronounce it Tie-dus.

It’s pronounced Tee-dus.

They say his name in Kingdom Hearts. ^^

Yeah, they had to say "him" because of what everybody has talked about it. It’s "him." It was "you." Some people get annoyed by it, I kinda find it cute in a way.

Before Kingdom Hearts came out, I think most people pronounced it Tie-Dus. I certainly did. Now it’s commonly known that’s it’s Tee-dus. I didn’t know that there was anything "official" before then that had it pronounced that way. Interesting.

Hmmm. I still pronounce it as tie-dus. I don’t like saying it the other way, and it annoys me when they say it like that in KH.
