Why is it so hard to find high-quality cover art to game soundtracks? The biggest I can usually find is 600×600, and it’s typically a crappy scan.

Anyone have a good source? I usually use the iTunes Store or Album Art Exchange, but game soundtrack covers are rare on both sites.

Google’s "Search by Image" feature really helps for this.

Also are there any specific game ost covers you’re looking for?

Most of the stuff on Google are just crappy scans. Here’s the type of quality I’m looking for:

I’m probably shit out of luck when it comes to Japanese or older soundtrack releases. Might have to start making my own.

If you peruse Last.FM, you can find some decent album art on Last.FM [e.g. (http://www.last.fm/music/Russell+Brower/World+of+Warcraft:+Mists+of+Pandaria+Sountrack/+images/82666201)]
There’s also:

Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Pandaria-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B00AJYPDE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373418499&sr=8-1&keywords=mists+of+pandaria+soundtrack)
Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=4162555)
Album Art Exchange (http://www.albumartexchange.com/covers.php?sort=4&q=Warcraft&fltr=1&bgc=&page=)
AllCDCovers (http://www.allcdcovers.com/search/music/all/Warcraft/1#sthash.FAwX1H4d.dpbs)*
AlbumArt.ORG (http://www.albumart.org/index.php?skey=Warcraft&itempage=1&newsearch=1&searchindex=Music) (Though, I think they rip from Amazon…)
SeekACover (http://www.seekacover.com/cd/Warcraft)
Sleevage (http://sleevage.com/)(It’s a bit more of a "custom art" blog, but worth looking at…)(subnote: I couldn’t find any WarCraft covers, so the link only goes to the main page…)
and a quick google search (https://www.google.com/search?num=100&newwindow=1&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=hrP&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=hi-res+album+art&oq=Hi-Res+Album&gs_l=serp.1.1.0l2j0i22i30l8.31786.37343.0.41096.12 .12.0.0.0.0.826.4610.1j3j3j5-2j3.12.0….0…1c.1.19.serp.gd90kbRTS8Q) for some assistance
(though my google-fu is weak… )
With the exception of, AllCDCovers, the best you’ll ever get is around 6002 to 7002, though I can’t justify the file size for anything larger

Register an account at VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/db/main.php), search an album… and you’ll usually discover kind souls either scanned/contributed stuff like booklets, front, back, tray/inlay, obi and CD labels for it (look for a small panel to the right). Scans’ quality isn’t always good, but it’s probably the best option out there.
