Galbadia Hotel is pretty much the best website ever, and I’ve spent many happy hours lately listening to stuff I never thought I’d hear again unless I fired up an old system. So, thanks for that! But, one thing that I kept wondering was where Sarah found all these albums? Is it really just a joint effort posting OSTs to these forums, or something more to it than that? Just curious.

I’m not an expert but I know two way to have a new OST. You can rip it from the game (there is few techniques to do it). Or you can "find" it somewhere on the internet…
You’ll ask me then "And how the uploaders can find the OST first?"
And I’ll say:
I’m not an expert but I know…

I was serious :p Maybe…
Juste look the "Sticky: VGM links". There is something like 10 000 links to other places where you can download OST.
If you want to post a new OST, for example, you can use an emulator and any audio software (well… any good one) to record the tracks. You can record directly from the console (again with a audio software).
There is other methods to do it. I’m not a pro. But I suppose you understand how it’s working now 🙂

Thanks DJ! That makes more sense now how this place got launched, and having such a central repository is truly fantastic. I’m also not surprised that hosting these gigs of music results in server bills of ~1500 bucks, either.
