Okay, a while ago, I just got my FFVIII (I ordered it 2 weeks ago) and the discs are in good condition and whatnot.

I have been playing the game and I can see that I will like it despite the fact that I’m not use to PS1 graphics when it comes to FF games. Anyways, whenever I try to save my game progress to my ps2 memory card (I listed da stats below: )

PS2 Memory Card:

8MB
Magic Gate
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.

Whenever I try to save, the fucking game tells me "Failed to check Memory Card". What the fuck am I suppose to do? I have tried freeing up some space (infact, I’ve freed up more than enough space!) and I tried resetting the game, etc. Do I need to order a PS1 memory card in order to save my fucking game?

Thanks in advance for your help. I should probably add that I tried to save when I was at a save point.

FFVIII is a PS1 game, so of course you’d need a PS1 memory card to save your game on.

You can’t save any PS1 game to a PS2 memory card. It says that specifically in the PS2 manual I believe or on the package the PS2 card comes with.

But you can copy and store PS1 files on your PS2 cards. I’ve got a backup card with all my PS saves on it.

You know what I mean! Lol, I know you can do that stuff but when it comes to game saves, it’s impossible unless you modify it.
