My friend introduced me to them a few months back & with the coming of Christmas I decided to ask for a Album of their’s [Disclaimer II]. I’ve heard that they’re becoming really big in American [not that popular here in the uk unfortunately], & since the vast majority of you are American I was wondering what you think of them.

They’re music seems to be cross between Metillica/Nirvana & that, in my opinion, is no mean feat. They have great Lyrics & none of they’re songs seem to follow the same trend. But, I’ll warn you before hand, most of they’re songs have explicit Lyrics & things can get pretty heavy.

I think they’d be awesome in concert, but due to their popularity here in the uk I’d be suprised if they even bother venturing our shores.

So…?

They’re okay. Not much different than any other modern rock band really imo.

Yeah, Seether suck…..hard. I label them (because they deserve it) ‘neo-grunge,’ in other words they are in the same genre as Nickelback, Staind, Creed, Alter Bridge……..bands that wish they came from Seattle in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Whilst I’m a HUGE fan of the original ‘grunge’ bands, I mean I could go back to when it first started and such. I just hate ‘neo-grunge’ as well its crap, the same sorts of songs, same sounding songs and basically is very close to nu-metal, just a fucking bunch of whiners.

Also if you think Seether have explicit lyrics just listen to some Nine Inch Nails or G G Allin.

*Puts of Frank Spencer voice*
I feel like a right newbie now!

…..Yeah just imagine it, all right.

Staind, Creed, Alter Bridge……..bands that wish they came from Seattle in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Whilst I’m a HUGE fan of the original ‘grunge’ bands I personally wouldn’t have classed Staind as ‘neo-grunge’ tbh. I thought some of their first album was pretty ok. I also find it strange that you labelled them in the same category as Creed =/

Also, Isn’t the lead singer from Seether getting up on Amy Lee?

Oh I’d put them in the same category as Creed any day, trying to imatate the original Seattle bands, all those bands do it, as does God Smack.

And yeah, he is getting it on with Amy Lee…..as fit as she is, Evanescence are crap.

Godsmack? I thought they were like trying to be all METAL or something.

I suppose if I had heard any of their music [a part from Nickelback, I’ve heard them *shudders*] I probably wouldn’t like Seether as much, or maybe not even at all.

I like to experiment with what I listen to, so who knows I may float away from Seether in a few months time & go for more ‘classical’ grunge.

Ah thats grand then, if you ever do feel like it, then try and listen to bands like Green River, or Mudhoney or Pearl Jam….stuff along those lines, all great stuff.

I’ll try them out.

Actually, after listening to all of the comments on this topic I went back to listen to Disclaimer II. Not only did I realise that they’re not original, but I figured that there is better music out there.

You have shown me the light!
