I listened to it on youtube and… Is this just me or this really sucks? Out of 20 minutes, maybe 5 was interesting (electric violins are cool:)), the rest was boring, unimaginative and just not good. It sounds like Zimmer was only a name here and the rest was made by his untalented friends. Hell, Barton score from first MW sounded almost the same as I recall.

I really like Zimmer, he’s great composer, and lately he did some good things (Dark Knight – yeah, I know, but I really think it’s great, creative electronica with orchestral boost score, Angels and Demons was nice too) but this is clearly below his talent. But – after all- I think that he did this project rather for fun. So I hope he had a lot of it. I – as a listener – can’t say that. Well, at least for now, ’cause maybe an OST will be bad ass;)…

… yeah, right.

Hans Zimmer is a major big step-up name recognition-wise from Barton, but I don’t really think Infinity Ward and Activision is getting their money’s worth here. It sounds almost like Barton’s score except for the electric violins (which are admittedly a nice touch).

The end credits suite sounds nice. The other stuff is fun too. Not sure if I’d rank it among Zimmer’s best work, but it’s pretty good as far as video game music goes.

I actually would consider it among Zimmer’s worst. As I said before, he is very talented composer but this score is garbage imo (or maybe it’s just not my cup of tea). After 45 minutes of music, I can say it without doubts. But I’m also sure that it works perfectly in game.
