Greedy Me & The Translucent Grendals

Hey all! I am trying to get Lionheart on disk one and I need your help! I have the Pulse Ammo & the Adamantine (sp…) But I cannot find any Grendals! My sources say that you can fight them in the woods near Timber (Roshfall Woods I think…) but I can’t seem to fight a single one! Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure, ’cause when I got Lionheart on Disc 1, I used the option of getting the Dragon Fangs from T-Rexaurs. The guide I’m looking at says that they’re near the mountains – try that. Also, if you’re certain that it’s Roshfall Woods, then just bring up the menu to check your location. It should tell you exactly where you are.

Oh how do you get them from T-Rexaurs? I’ll try the mountains near Timber but my menu says I’m where I need to be….(Roshfall)

You can get them as T-Rexuar drop when they’re Level 21-29. But you’ve already left the Balamb area, so no more T-Rexaurs for you until Disc 2. Tell you what — I have a pretty good archive of Final Fantasy VIII savefiles. I’ll load up the game and see if I can track them down.

Edit: Sorry, I couldn’t find any. However, the tip I’m looking at does say that they’re near the mountains, and Roshfall Forest isn’t anywhere near the mountains, so I’m not sure they’re there. I don’t really remember ever encountering them there. The tip also says that they’re rare, so if you’re really determined, just keep trying. You passed up the T-Rexaurs, so this is the only shot left.

Actually I got em! See you have to go to the forest that connects Timber and Galbadia..(which isn’t even Roshfall..) and then run in the forest while touching the mountains that surround it.

Huh? Do you have the American version or what? Because it’s impossible to even have Lionheart in disc 1 since you don’t get the Wepon Monthly 1st Issue until the 3rd disc…

Ah, poor Extraction. Never knew apparently that you never need any of the magazines to get the weapons, only the necessary items.
