Not that his meanness was necessary, but the reason people downplay Great Gospel as a limit break is simply because of the extended amount of time in which you can’t use it. This thread really doesn’t have much of a point because nobody will consider Aeris a better character just because she’s a great character if you cheat.

It’s not that I don’t like Aeris, which In fact I do (except for the whole Aerith = Aeris mistranslation bullshit :-\) I just don’t see her as anything special. She could hear the planet, and was a Cetra. If you strip all of that away all you’ve got is a girl in a pink skirt sellin’ flowers for 1 gil a piece in the slums of Midgar. As I said I don’t dislike her, however I fail to see what all of the hype is about. Personally characters like Red XIII, Cait Sith, and Tifa appeal to me more. Besides near the end of Disc 1 Aeris really started acting crazy with the whole "I can hear the planet" thing and it had gotten a little weird.
