I have a question. does Grandia 1 go into Grandia 2 storyline wise, or is it like the final fantasy’s where it doesnt matter what order u play them in? basically, is it ok to play Grandia 2 before Grandia 1?

I played Grandia 2 before Grandia, I understood it well enough, Grandia 2 is an awesome game dont pass it up.

Ah, well I played both games but hardly remember any connection between storyline-wise…

There is no connection bar the title of the game, as everyone else has mentioned. So it’s more than okay to play the second game before the first.

I would recommend beyond a shadow of a doubt that you play the first though. In my opinion, it’s got the better storyline of the two. It may not look as pretty, but it’s still a pretty awesome game.

I have both of these games, and both of them are pretty damn good RPG’s. The first one, when I played it for the first time, reminded me, graphic wise, of Final Fantasy Tactics, and the story and battle system was solid and thorough.

The second Grandia, which I have on the Dreamcast, was just as good. The battle system was still the same, prooving the old adage "Don’t fix it, if it aint broken!" However, the only downside I’d have to say about Grandia 2 is the voice of Ryudo is done by… Cam Clarke. No offense to fans of Cam Clarke, but I really despise the guy. From Kaneda in Akira, to Leonardo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I do NOT like him. Other than that, I really enjoyed Grandia 2.

Oh, but Cam Clarke was awesome! He’s a TURTLE! =P Anyways, I thought he pulled off Ryuudo’s sarcastic aspects rather well. :}

In any case, they are both great games, though I would particularly recommend the first. =)
