With no strings attached
One would think of oneself
To be as free as a bird
Carelessly flying around

But then reality hurts
In funny and ironic ways
And this bird needs to
Find its very own cage

Be someone else’s dear
A singing wonder maybe
With fresh food and water
Until love disappears…
