I know this year’s Oscars are already over and done with, but since discussion of them is overtaking the Dark Knight Returns thread, they probably can still stand to have their own thread.

Debate about Oscars of years past or about how you feel about the Academy Awards in general would be awesome too! I know there are a lot of people out there who think the Academy is really out of touch and I’d love to read and maybe participate in a good debate about it. 🙂

I think the Academy gets it right about half of time in reference to Best Actor/Actress and Best Picture, which are the main awards. As far as this year’s winners go, I think it worked out about right. Daniel Day Lewis deserved it and so did ‘No Country’.

i’m still upset that hairspray wasn’t nominated for anything. and i think enchanted lost in the categories it was in, and i’m annoyed at that too.

yeah hairspray! I was surprised it wasn’t up for anything I loved it…

I wish Juno had won more but atleast it got best screenplay of whatever for Diablo Cody. Friggin No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood won for like everything lol
