Definitely pick up Last Exile. It’s fantastic.

I’ve heard good things about Full Metal Alchemist, but I have’n’t actually seen it myself.

Full Metal Alchemist is also another great anime and if you like stories that gets darker and darker as it progresses like Trigun, this should be fine.
