Franz Ferdinand!!!!

howdy all. any fans of franz ferdinand? has anyone got the new album? (it’s bloddy great BTW)

Well, I had this discussion with Rapture last night. The great thing about Franz is that they keep their songs extremly simple and don’t over-elaborate, creating stupid solos or riffs, in my mind they are almost punk in that sense. It’s hard not to like This Fire, Michael, Take Me Out, Jacqueline or Dark of the Matin�e and other than Auf Asche they had a very satisfying debut album. A strange thing that I like about them is the artwork, the strange kind of yellow-red combinations that I always associate with them.

Of their new stuff I’ve only heard If You Want To and I thought it was pretty awful. They’re certainly trying something a bit different and more experimental but I don’t think they pulled it off with that song at least. I’ll reserve judgement on the new album for now but I won’t be rushing out to buy it anytime soon

yes, I had the new album 2 weeks prior to release! :-* it’s pretty great, probably better than the first one (imo). they’re a great pop band, and you have to love their cocky demeanour.

I’m ashamed of you for getting it early captain, but can you reccomend some good songs to download from it?

There’s this song on the new album called the fallen, that i’m absoloutly in love with. think you might like it too, mossy 🙂

Thanks, I liked that song a lot. It’s much better than If You Want To, more like something from the first album so I enjoyed it a lot more.
