What kind of first-person shooters do you guys like most?

I guess the 3 main kinds are more futuristic (like Halo), present (with more modern weapons like Counter-Strike), or past shooters (like Call of Duty or Medal of Honor).

I personally like them all but do you guys play one more than the others?

Erstwhile. My proclivity to First-Person-Shooters oriented to World War II, is beside the clash of ideologies. It’s the undeniable fact that this war was, quintessentially, the inevitable battle between good and evil that good couldn’t afford to eschew nor lose. Also, it probably will remain as one if not the most influential war that humanity has experienced throughout the breadth of time.

For me it’s a tie between modern and futuristic. I like look of old fashioned weapons, but I would take a decked out sniper rifle over an old reload-every-shot rifle. Also, I have an affinity for games like Counter-Strike.

The only FPS I’ve played has been Battlefield 1942, and I am absolutely terrible at it, except the occasional lucky shot (which is usually at my own team).

Gameplay trumps setting, so I really can’t pick.

killing someone actually takes some time with past weapons

I beg to differ.

I would say modern ones.

I love older ones (WW 2, but i would like to see a videogame about the Great War) and modern ones. I never looked forward on playing games like Halo or Quake, although i like Time Splinters

I hate old ones. War FPS games have been done to death, and rarely are any of them entertaining these days. I like a mix between modern and future, like Halo or Timesplitters, which mixes all of the three.

I think the opposite. Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and Day of Defeat are easily 3 of the greatest shooters in my opinion.

I would say that I’ve played more past-based shooters, but I tend to prefer more futuristic FPS, because the WW2 market feels oversaturated, to me. (I could change my tune if they ever made a HIGH quality WW1 shooter.)
