Final Fantasy V Atomos Boss

I think I’ve got that right. Whilst you’re with Zera (the guy with the funny hat who was one of the dawn warriors) and you’re going up X-Death’s tower thingy, you meet a boss at the top called Atomos that constantly casts Comet on your four characters and then swallows them up into a never-never-land someplace or something (my powers of description never cease to amaze me. [/Sarcasm mode.]) Now, I have a very simple question. Can anyone offer me advice on how to defeat this guy, as he’s beginning to get on my nerves. Cheers.

Well, bah. The only trick I could possibly offer you is quite cheap. Well, it�s actually quite expensive,… and not elegant at all. I just had three – erh- samurais (?) and used the Coin Toss command to throw all my money at this guy.

Like I said, it is no elegant, tricky strategy… it just worked for me back then. *grins helplessly*

The best thing is if you have the Blue Magic "Dark Shock." (May be called something slightly different, but similar, in your version of the game.) You’ll also need "L5 Doom." (I sure hope you have this.) Cast Dark Shock on Atomos. If it doesn’t work, keep trying it until works. Once "Dark Shock" has been cast successfully, cast L5 Doom. Instant death.

If you don’t have those spells, then the other strategy is to make four Monks with the !Store (Buildup) ability. You should be able to kill him quickly with that. Also try Bio and Comet if not all of your Monks have !Store.

I found him very hard… but what i did was…. turned everyone into Dragoons and jumped on his @$$ lol! and it worked! (somehow)

I can’t remember but can you get the Ragnarok Sword at this point?

Because if you can, equip that and beat the shit into the bastard.

Or keep using Jump and Coin Toss (If You Have Loads Of Money)

This was the first time for me to play 5 (as sad as it is) and i didnt have lev 5 death or anthing like that becasue i dont really like blue magics so the way i did it was. At the time i had a knight, monk, white mage, black mage. I let the boss kill one person and let that person slowly get sucked to him. While he was concentrating to that one person i beat the **** outta him if he didnt die by the time that person was close to being sucked in I revived that person and when he used the move again and killed a different person kept at it. BORING but whatever works lol.
