I’m the only member here I know who cosplays so I’ll put up my Final Fantasy cosplay pics and yes these are all costumes I’ve made myself:

Yeah that’s not me as Yuffie ^^. But yeah she is very good. I do have a pic of me with her though.

Your costumes are far better than just about everything I’ve seen (which is pretty much the random pic here or there), but everytime I see a cosplayer, I can’t help but think of Spoony’s FFVII rant.

Yeah sometimes people don’t take cosplay seriously enough imo. However for those newbie cosplayers, they all start out bad I think (I did once XD). Because to make a perfect or good costume, I found that it also takes time and research to gather the right materieals and techniques for costume construction (garments, props, wigs, etc.). Thanks to cosplay.com (where they offer all kinds of cosplay tips there), I’ve learned so much about construction methods and have advanced my skills with cosplay over the past three years.

Yeah I do see some bad cosplay here and there from time to time. I think though the most important thing is if they are having fun cosplaying. However if a cosplayer with a bad costume is taking offense at negative comments and taking that to heart, they obviously aren’t having fun cosplaying so they need to either improve their work or just not cosplay anymore (that’s just my opinion and I may or may not get flamed for that XD). It’s really for their own good of their emotional health I think. I remember I would get too many flames for not having the best costumes and I realized I wasn’t having fun cosplaying unless I had a good costume. So that’s where I straightened up alittle and did everything I could to improve my skills. In the end I was just having more fun cosplaying the better my costumes were.
