Film noir style anim�.

Just wondering if any of you folks could recommend any film noir style animé? Something in the style of A Detective Story on the Animatrix.

ummm…Noir?

Excellent Cowtacular! Another one on the case. As for the animé ‘Noir’, I checked it out on Wikipedia and it doesn’t seem to be the sort of thing I’m/we’re looking for.

Closest thing I can think of is Patlabor WXIII, although it ruins the feel by adding a monster into it. Patlabor I and II, definately have a bit of a film noir feel to it, especially II.

It looks all right. I’ll try and watch it, if I can find a place to rent/download it from that is.

Armitage III has that noir feel about it, You’re Under Arrest also but in traces, Monster is pretty cool, Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman was pretty cool, City Hunter, Lupin III, basically a lot of older Anime are pretty noir.

Also, I don’t enjoy them, so I’m hesitant to recommended, but pretty much everything Ghost In the Shell is a cross between sci-fi and noir.
