I think it’s pretty funny, and in the stupid way. Seriously, the characters look nothing like those from FFVII, at all.

What’s confusing about it? I’m sure that after all is said and done, FFVII was supposed to come out on the NES, yet alone every other system ever made.

chances are they started making it and then trashed the idea when they realised that the N64 was Zelda’s Turf. 😛

Nintendo were in te running to have the game on their super-brand-new system, as were Sony. So they were trying their damndest to win the contract, showing off with what their system could do.
Eventually though, Sony won the contract, and the most over-hyped game in existance was further developed for Playstation.

n64 wasnt strong enough for ff7,but then playstation was,so thats why they went to ps rather then n64 in simple terms

Never mind the fact that FFVII would only have used a fraction of the potential power of either system…

I came across this image on www.ff7citadel.com. Its a great website with secrets and stuff but on this site they have this pic (and a few more) apparantly showing early screenshots of ffvii on the n64. What do you guys think?????
Whos the blonde.
I dont remember her from ffVII
It looks like scarlett with less on.

The way I always heard it was that Square was going for the N64 but when they knew that it would use cartridges instead of cds they scrapped it and went for the PSX.

Cool, i suppose it makes sense now. It`s just very unusual to see these screenshots.

FFVI FMV N64 version (trade demo)
More a curio for press and industry ‘tech-heads’, this was little more than a real-time CG movie of texture-mapped models of Terra, Locke, Edgar, Cyan and Shadow fighting a dragon, albeit in full 3D running on N64 hardware. It was planned as a test-bed for Square’s animators to familliarise themselves with the capabilites and limitations of the N64 hardware in preperation for the seventh installment on the system, however fate had other ideas. The ‘movie’ was never intended to be part of an actual N64 port of FFVI though.

FF was supposed to be realeased on nintendo probably, just like the nes and snes. But I think square and nes had like arguments with each other later on so square took their buisness elsewhere, to sony.
