ff1 and 2 coming to US

when i first read this news in EGM i thought they were joking. but i surfed around on the net, and its true! i’m so excited….

if you dont know what i’m talking about. ff1 and 2 remakes (for the psone) were supposed to just be released in japan. but now, square has announced that they’re coming to north america. they well be out in north america sometime in 2003.

so that means ff10-2, ff1, and ff2 are all coming out next year…..

Hmm, sounds interesting. I don’t know much about this. Is this just a port of the original games to the PS1, or are they doing it up with new graphics and sounds and stuff?

new graphics and the works. but the graphics are still pretty bad. its on a 1 disc for ps1. but there are fmv’s

I think they are ports of the WSC versions.

Exactly, they are ports of the Wonderswan Color versions, which is not too bad.

With these two, that means that , with the exception of Final Fantasy III, the ENTIRE series will be playabe on a SINGLE console, WITHOUT emulation…Sounds good to me . 😉

Well I don�t care about the graphics of the game, as long as the gameplay is intact I�ll be satisfied with the final product.

I’m excited that FF1 and FF2 are coming to the US on PSX. I used to play FF1 on NES all the time when I was little. It brings back good memories. I’ve played the WSC roms, but i’d like to import the WSC carts for my WSC.

There is going to be way to many final fantasy games coming out next year, FF1,2,maybe 3, FF11 and FF10-2.
It�s going to be awsome, I suppose I will have to find away to afford all of them.

Wow, that sounds cool. Then I can buy them and play them or atleast say that I own them…

Wow, but that’s not gonna help us Aussies *gets out his FF1 and 2 roms and plays them instead* Good ole roms, never fail me.

If the aussies want to be extra cool, use ebay to get it early. Japanese playstation 2’s are still sometime on there and japenese games show up too. So get FF 11 and the american version redone of 1-2 earlier!

P.S. Roms suck most of the time beyond Snes.

So Europe and Australia aren’t getting these ports? Why not? This is the only reason I hate Square… I’ll have to import… again… or maybe just stick to the NES and WSC versions… I own both… Oh well.

I just saw the new graphics. wow. its like playing a SNES games. Gone are the classic FF1 8 bit char look, but im looking forward to this game now.
