FFXI will be released in the US this year, however, I wouldn’t be getting your hopes up, the game will also need a pay2play fee and monthly game costs aswell as a broadband modem for your PS2 and a USB keyboard is also recommended. The expansion pack ‘Vision of Jirat’s release date is still unknown.

dont let RS fool u. It will have a monthly fee justlike every MMORPG and they usually are worth it. Plus if you dont want to buy the keyboard and playonline modem you can get it for PC when thats released.

yah, the PS2 FFXI is scheduled for an october of 2003 release, but i was curious, usually how much later does it take for a FF game to come to computer, cause i dont wanna buy a ps2 just for that.

I believe (though I’m not sure… I’ll check on this) that FFXI is released for the COMPUTER first, then PS2 but I’m not sure.

OK, here are the release dates:

PS2: December 31st 2003
PC: TBA (To Be Announced) 2003

I’ll edit this post in a few minutes with the expected release date for both versions.

Stupid monthly fee… I dunno how good a FF game (which are famous for their stories) will be online, with buttheads ruining it for other people.

square just started a 2 month testing period here in the states. I hope they hurry the process up though, since they already get an expansion in Japan (Vision of Viratt*) on April 17th.

I have been craving playing this game.

BTW: Does anyone know if FFX is out on Windows platform in U.S. right now and where could i get it?

Im not sure bout the USA, i live in the UK and as far as even getting ps2 internet for far seems very unlikely, Sony cant make up their minds:notgood: its very annoying, I bet we wont even get FF11, we dont get anything else……:eye:
