I’ve been playing lately. Generally, it helps you mix some magic types such as White Mage, Black Mage and Time Mage with some strong attacker types like Knight, Monk and Ninja, but watch out for enemies that are only affected by certain types of attacks. Time Mage isn’t too good at first, but once you get access to magic like Comet and Haste2, it rocks! Blue Mage is good too, if you’re willing to seek out the good blue magic.

Do not doubt the knowledge of Agent. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to this game and others. He is right with what he says.

Once you get Dancer I would suggest having your magic users learn the ability. It helps a lot because one of the dances (which are done at random) steals MP form the enemy. Just make sure you don’t dance against an undead opponent… Of course, I doubt you would make that mistake twice.

Well, I always loved mixes like Knight/White Mage, or Ninja/White Mage because they are strong in battles but can also heal your characters. But I kept on changing around. I used every job that was on there, just to see whether they are good or not. And I wanted to master as many as possible. It is just fun. 🙂

Heh, I’m learning the lot at the mo, when I have them all though I’ll probably go for Bare + Magic & Barefist

The sorcerer is awesome.

I didn’t like the sorceror that much.

But I’d also like to add the following to my advice — Don’t stick with the same jobs for too long. Learn a few levels and then switch around, mix and match. If you find the right songs, the Bard dressphere is excellent. Keep the enemies occupied with Love Song or Tempt Song and such and pound away. Monk is really good, especially early on, because of the high HP and power attacks. And a summoner’s not bad to have around either, especially if you’re dealing with large groups and you make sure to keep getting the good summons.

Oh, ooh — and have each character be a Chemist at least long enough for them to learn Drink! That way, they can drink stat-boosting potions even if they’re not using the Chemist Job, which could come in handy in a boss fight.
