Yeah well, I picked up FF9 after like 3 years and I was like hey what the hell lets order the strategy guide offa Amazon jus for fun. And then I get the guide and…its crap!!!!!! Playstationonline doesnt even support those gay side bars anymore. What are your opinions on it?

Oh. Crap.

I just bought the guide book a few weeks ago, fancied a proper run through of the game, doing everything. I was annoyed enough to see all the playonline links but if they don’t work that will be even more annoying !

Sigh.

I’m not sure how useful it will be exactly, a lot of the side quests seem to be pretty pointless (jump rope anyone?) But it was only a couple of quid, so it might prove its worth.

From what I’ve heard, the interactive links in the FFIX strategy guide are still supported on PlayOnline, however the location of the online support is different (if I remember correctly it’s not accessed through PlayOnline.com anymore (which is now just a portal to the offical Japanese, US and European FFXI sites).

I can’t remember where it is accessed though. Maybe through the main Square Enix site perhaps? (But that is a long shot)

Well I bought the guide because I have all the others and I am obviously a large FF fan. The official guides are good for reference with enemies and items, etc. and they come with the added bonus of clear colour images that guides from GameFAQs for example don’t.

I ordered it from Amazon and opened the box and was surprised to see how thin it was. At the time I didnt have the internet so it was pretty crap to do that, and it seemed a bit unfair to do that and lazy as if they couldnt be bothered to finish the guide.

Anyway, everyone. The site is here: http://www.square-enix-europe.com/ff9/english/index.html and it still works. Do what I did and copy the information from each page into a Word Doc and print it off, so u dont have to go online continually. 😀
