IV is quite possibly my favorite game out of the series, I was curious if anyone here has had a chance to get their hands on The After Years yet? If so tell me of your experience with it!

Moving to XIII and beyond, unless we suddenly get a Compilation of IV or something.

Yeah I didn’t really know where to put that, thank ya!

I have all the chapters currently avaliable and completed all of them. It’s pretty difficult, the encounter rate is beyond reasonable. The challange dungon really are what they say they are. In muy region the final chapter comes out tomorrow which will hopefully mean the game can be played more like FFIV and allow oyu to travel anywhere etc.

Also I wish they implemented more features from the DS FFIV bedcause some of the abilities in that version were a hell of a lot better.

Encounter rate beyond reasonable?! I’m missing out!! Is this only playable via the WII?

Please keep us posted with your thoughts on how this turns out to your expectations.

This is exciting!!

If you’re interested, this guy (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A8C41EBB3779596C&search_query=final+fantasy+iv+after+years) has posted a playthrough of all of the sections currently available (100+ videos).

That’s freakin’ awesome! I’m going to try to hold off on looking into that anymore than I have until I can stack the cash for a WII. I might get too impatient and have to surrender to watching these. I’ve got to get a WII by the end of this week!

Thank you for the link arthurgolden!!

I don’t suppose there’s anything like a Wii Virtual Console emulator, is there?

I totally want to play this, but totally don’t have a Wii, and totally don’t want one just for this. lol

It’s a great game. It’s insanely hard though. They give you a team of only frail mages and expect you to get through a dungeon and a rediculous boss fight witout losing.

I’m on the final boss and it is HARD.

I still can’t believe what they chose to do with The After Years, making it a ‘chapter-based game’ and all. WTF??? This is the first thing Square has done that has truly pissed me off.

FF Tactics was chapter based, as well. It sort of broke up the flow of the narrative, but it was kind of nice to have those benchmarks for progression.

Well, but Tactics was a complete game in one package; this one’s chapters are bought separately.

Or did they make a decision to change it since I last read about it? If they did, then I take back what I said.
