Hey, Does anybody know how the SeeD Level increase is actually decided…

y’know, when your walkin around playin the game, and it drops…how did square actually calculate how it drops and / or rises?

Anyone know?

Go to the menu ingame and take the exams to increase it. If you rely solely on the information/events that happen ingame, you should keep up at a steady pace. If you cheat, like I did, for reasons none other than pure greed for Gil, you can advance right the very top of the SeeD tree. Or whatever it is.

I know that, its just, i want to be able to maintain a seed level, throuout the game, …there must be an actual in game formula that depicts how your seed level is raised or lowered

Thanks for the advice though…

It’s probably based over a period of time, one which I have no clue of because it’s been so long since I played it. Just keep on cheating. (http://final-worlds-apart.tripod.com/id10.html) 🙂

It goes down as you use GF’s. Stop using the fucking GF’s!!

Both are true and it goes up if you train I’m skeptical as to DWs though, but training brutally will get you a high seed level.

There’s an excellent SeeD rank guide at GameFAQs that gives the exact info on how the ranking is determined. I really recommend it.

Of course, I just do like everybody else here pretty much and cheat it using the exams.

There are other places which increase your seed rank, one of which is making sure that you walk inside the library and not run.

I could go on but as far as how Square formulated the ranking system I do not know, you need to ask a someone who understands the games programming, what’s what and what does what.

You don’t have to cheat to get to level A on the seed rank, I’m able to get there just before aquireing Ragnarok, sometimes sooner.

Usually when I train my rank goes down. Probably because I’m floundering around when I should be saving the world or something…

Rank A automatically goes down to thirty unless you win 20 battles.

Agent’s last post is your answer.

I always just cheated; it was nice that my first SeeD salary was 30000 gil.

So true. There’s really not much point in having a lot of excess gil in FFVIII. Weapons are dirt cheap to upgrade and there’s really not much else you can buy. Most stuff you get through drops or stealing or playing cards.

Shh. Stop using the word "cheat". You’re making me feel guilty.

Mostly I use the Character Editor to learn SumMagic and GFHP, cause they’re a pain in the ass to master.

Heh, character editor. I guess you have the PC version of the game then. What editor do you use? I have something called "FFVIII Trainer." I also have one called "Griever."

FF8CHE.exe

But no character editor can help me past the CG that makes my computer freeze up. T_T

If it drops by using GF’s or something simply re-take the tests. Answers are easy to find on the internet
