Greetings.

Well, well, well, I picked this game up for a real sweet price. Heh, what can I say? You’ve got the deadites running around, biting clawing and, of course, swallowing souls causing trouble in a small town. Who do you call? The man with one hand (He lopped the other off in Evil Dead 2 : Dead by Dawn.) who can fit a chainsaw over the stump, carries a 12-gauge, double-barrelled Remington Shotgun (S-Mart’s top of the line. Found in the sporting goods department, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retailing for about $199.95, it’s got walnut stock, cobalt blue steel and a hair trigger. That’s right… Shop smart… Shop S-Mart! YOU GOT THAT YOU PRIMITIVE SCREWHEADS!!!!) S-Mart salesperson, the man called ASH!

Hey, I loved the Evil Dead movies, and with rumours of a fourth movie being made, and the price I got the game for (Some baka had it in a discount bin for $29.95, when on the shelf it was $99.95. HA!) I had to get this game.

With witty one lines like Do you have the time? Hang on, doesn’t matter, you’re dead!, Your mother kisses a face as ugly as that?, I think I just found the cure for ugliness and many others, all voiced by Bruce Campbell himself, right after he’s either killed a deadite or you just want to here the man talk. I found myself chuckling away, listening to Ash, while blasting deadites with the shotgun, blowing them up with Dynamite, smacking them around with a shovel or my personal favourite, playing chop suey with a deadite with the chainsaw, to me this game is great for a laugh.

In a sense, I guess you could say it’s a Resident Evil clone. I mean, you’re beating up the undead, and in Resident Evil, you beat up the undead (You naughty people, you? Have you no shame?), but whereas Resident Evil had a sinister organisation in the background and was somewhat of a serious game, Evil Dead : A Fistful of Boomsticks, you’re fighting against the dead, brought back to life thanks to the Necronomicon est Mortis – The Book of the Dead, it has a rather comedic feel to it, just like Evil Dead III : The Army of Darkness, only this time, it’s set in Ash’s hometown.

If you’re after a game to have a laugh to, carry really big guns or just want to blow up the undead, check this one out. You may enjoy it. I know I do, yes?
