Thank you very much! I can’t wait to hear the new recording of his "Othello Symphony".

"I’ve reduced my ballet Othello which is two hours and change, to a symphony, to achieve symphonic purposes. Not a suite, not a narrative – a symphony. It’s 33 minutes long. Othello Symphony, I’m calling it. Liszt had a Faust Symphony, for example. And this way it can be programmed for a symphony hall, for symphony listening purposes." -EG-

Thanks very much for sharing. Although I don’t like everything Goldenthal does (typically his modern action scores like SWAT or the funky stuff he does for Taymor’s films), he still one of my favorite composers. Wish he would do more film scores.

Goldenthal really should stop doing these blas� concert pieces and write some real music – film music – instead.
