Here are the samples to Paul Leonard-Morgans electronic score for Dredd. Don’t expect anything bombastic and orchestral like Silvestri’s score 🙁

So? Why it should sound like Silvestri? It’s a different style kind of film.

it definately is a more textural and ambient soundtrack. it’s nice, but is missing some of the fun really.
most likely the new Dredd movie is more serious looking and not as over-the-top as the graphic novels or the first film.

I know, but I expected at least some themes. This is just another forgettable electronic score for a pretty iconic character. Hopefully the music goes well with the film though :/

There was never any chance it would be an exciting score with powerful themes. Those days are gone. Modern producers have an entirely different attitude about what a score should be for movies. It is a real shame, but there it is…..

Still within the boundaries of todays scoring world there would have been the possibility to write an engaging score using this sort of energy plus powerful and dramatic themes. Everyone seems to want the epic energy, but if you put an epic theme on top it becomes too overbearing for some people.
