I don’t think i’ve ever before played a game for so long at one sitting while thinking i’ve only been playing for a short time. It’s such a fun game to play, the characters, despite having very distinct london accents, are high energy and interesting. I really like the way that you get to distribute skill points to customise how powerful your characters will be with certain weapons. The only thing that annoys me is that the character designer (who also designed the characters from Dragonball) makes The Hero look like Gohan and Angelo look like Trunks. Very good game.

Dragon Quest VIII put me to sleep.

Also, you only think Akria Toriyama made the characters look like that, but it’s his own distinct style and your overbearing recognition of the DBZ series that made you think that.

I love DQVIII, but cannot play it as my stupid PS2 fucked the disc up.

Dragon Quest VIII was the first RPG I played, and I still think it’s pretty good (despite the British accents…).

I beat Dragon Quest VIII a couple of months ago, actually. I think it was a very good game. I think the past Dragon Quest games should be updated like the Final Fantasy games are being updated now.

It seemed like an ok game, but I never bothered to finish it. Seem to remember spending a good bit of time grinding before each major plot event, which is never good. Then again, I haven’t bothered to finish Persona 3 either, another good game.

I’ve never cared much for Toriyama’s cartoony style, but millions of others disagree so eff what I think, eh?
