Yeah, I know. Should I lie and say that I want this music for someone else?

Anyways, I understand that there was never a soundtrack release, but there’s a few projects going on to rip the audio straight from the show. I’m familiar with coycoy’s rips, but would really appreciate if people would share or point me in the right direction for some more tracks. A big thank you in advance!

Hello friend, I want to tell you that you are not alone in this quest, I love the music of Mark Menza in Dragon Ball GT!

His music has style and personality in my opinion, and to tell the truth it is quite that he composed for each of the 64 episodes of the series.

Unfortunately, as you mention, FUNimation has not published the music yet, and it is likely that they never produce the original soundtrack or that will take several years to do it.

If you want to know more, please read the interview to Mark Menza by Derek Padula, is divided in two parts, check the link:

Dragon Ball GT Music – Composer Mark Menza Interview Part 1 | The Dao of Dragon Ball Blog (http://thedaoofdragonball.com/blog/interviews/dragon-ball-gt-music-composer-mark-menza-interview-part-1/)

In the middle of the second part (Dragon Ball GT Music CD), Menza talks about the production of the soundtrack and how difficult it would be for the moment. Well, this is at least more information than I expected.

It occurs to me we can collect signatures and contact at FUNimation, to persuade the company to edit one or more discs of music. This has worked before, we could try, how do you see?

Anyway, I want to tell you that I have several themes of Mark Menza in mp3, I think that there are between 30 to 40 tracks, and if you like I can upload them, in such a case, give me a few days to locate the files and publish them in a post. Also I have the japanese background music and I remember that has 77 tracks, if you are interested in.

Well friend, we are many who are seeking the soundtrack by Mark Menza.

That…sounds awesome! I’d love to get my greasy little hands on those themes considering how little there is available of Mark Menza’s music for this series (cleanly ripped or not).

And I have read that interview before, it was quite fascinating, shining a spotlight on the scoring process on the silver screen and how difficult it can be, then to have the fans of the show rail on you for just doing your job. Must suck big time, but props to him for delivering an intriguing score. Anyone reading this who hasn’t read the interview, go and check it out! It’s a really cool 15 minute read if you’re interested.

As for a petition, for every time that they work there’s probably ten times when they didn’t. Don’t want to douse anyone’s hopes, but the series ended almost a decade ago, I doubt much can be done to secure a release. Oh well. ;(

Many thanks in advance, Vlad Drakul, for the reply and hopeful future upload of some very interesting and not-at-all awful music that some DBZ fans would make you believe.
