This isn’t a review, this isn’t an RPG, this isn’t something I wanna post on the main site. It’s to get people more aware of a game that is so bad ass. 😀

Drag-On Dragoon (or Drakengard when it comes out here in the US) is about a guy and a dragon and a bunch of enemies.

Bad story? Okay! Well, you play as the character Caim, a guy who is in the middle of a war of two kingdoms. Basically, your mission is to save and help the Allied Powers against the Empire. Of course, you’re not doing this alone, you help save a Red Dragon (named Red Dragon… haha) and with his help, you will destroy the air and the ground.

There are three game modes:

Ground: In this mode, you are walking around as Caim and you basically go into a "Dynasty Warriors" type game. You run around, bashing on the attack button and doing combos so you can increase your EXP. I basically enjoy this more than running into random battles and holding the X button all day… but this isn’t really an RPG. As you fight more and more, your weapons gain EXP. The higher the level, the more attacks you can do. Throughout the game, you will gain more and more weapons and you can even switch weapons mid battle.

Air: Air is basically like Panzer Dragoon if you’ve ever played it. You ride on the Red Dragon and you go around and shoot stuff with your powerful flames and magic attacks. You can lock on to objects and be able to turn to your locked item with ease. Basically you destroy things with flames, lock on missile flames and your ever powerful special magic attack. Your Dragon can also level up and do more attacks and even look cooler.

Low-Altitude: This is basically a hybrid of the two. On the Dragon, you can bomb enemies from above and deal damage against huge crowds. You can unmount and go into Ground Mode and start attacking with your weapons in hand to hand. I perfer using Ground when I need to level up and if I have to hit a hard to reach enemy, otherwise I use the Dragon to clear up any big pieces.

As you continue playing, you get more involved in the story of the whole Empire/Allied War and eventually… beat the game.

If you’re a Dynasty Warrior fan, I suggest that you pick this up as you will enjoy it. 😀

… okay so that was a review…

ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS GREAT GAME? 😀

EDIT: And here’s a screenshot
