Hello,

I have joined this great site to access some great film music I don’t have and meet others who enjoy doing the same. I have recently downloaded a score and I cannot find a way to play it back on my computer. I have also downloaded every codec I can think of and nothing seems to work or I simply don’t have the know-how. I’m curious to know if someone can make any suggestions to me as to how I can play the music back. Thanks very kindly.

Pretty hard to help you if you don’t give some info… In which format is the score encoded?

Sorry for the oversight on my part. I’ve found that for some reason different files I’ve downloaded play and others do not. What ‘s more mysterious is that some play in Windows Media Player in which they are downloaded to me and others don’t play in that some format. By the same token, other files download in VLC Media Player and also some of these playback and others do not. Other files still download in one of the two but don’t play in that format but do in another. For example I’ve had a score that downloaded in VLC exclusively but wouldn’t play in VLC yet would in Windows Media! I’ve also attempted to play these back in other formats such as Jet Audio with no luck. I have downloaded a number of codecs onto my computer attempting to achieve playback but none have been of assistance. I have also been recommended to attain the use of AIMP2 on my computer to playback a score but either I haven’t figured it out or haven’t been successful. I would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone could give me regarding this mysterious issue. Thanks so much for your time.

Hmmm, we still need more information about what the file format for the music you’re trying to open :p MP3 shouldn’t give you a problem, so you’re probably trying to open a flac, yes?

Try using Foobar2000 (foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/)). It’s a very good player that many people around here use.

If you’re trying to open flac format music, then the file should have come with a cue file. Open the cue file in the player and the music will show up in the playlist.

Thanks very much. I tried foobar2000 and although it didn’t work I did find a winrar 32 bit that apparently decompressed and extracts the files to make them playable. Cheers!
