Does the cassette soundtrack to Battle Mania Daiginjō exist in anyone’s library? It doesn’t even have a vgmdb link, but it’s right there. There could be a chance this went unreleased, but I’d bet it did and its just incredibly obscure. Hell, for a rarity like this, for a SOUNDTRACK like this, I might even be down to put up little cash bounty on hunting it down. If it even exists. Could someone help validate this release’s existence at all? Or maybe translate the blurb about the cassette? Thanks a ton for any help!

I’d post this on vgmdb and see what they say. It’s possible it was never released, too. In the meantime, you could always get he vgm set if you just want the listen to the tracks.

Well, according to the text that cassette has been awarded to whopping… THREE persons so it sure is rare!

Well shit, I guess I have a new holy grail now. Could I bother you for a translation of the entire bit of text there, out of curiosity?

I did not know that someone would be interested. it was so long ago….! in general I collect a game for 7 years and became the owner of this rarity by accident. Publish a photo of a cassette? it is sealed and open, I definitely will not))
I wanted to subscribe the author of the topic in PM, but I do not know how?
PS sorry for my english

Hello! I just read your post. You have the cassette tape I mentioned? Wow that is incredible! I own a high quality cassette deck and am very interested in preserving the contents of that cassette for the future. I understand sometimes it is scary to unseal something new, but this is something so obscure that it absolutely deserves preservation! This is a rare chance to do something very good for history together. If you are interested, here is my email. I would be willing to pay you as well. Please let me know, thank you very much!

If you own the cassette, we all would love to have pictures of the case (still sealed, no problem).

Wow Andrew, thank you so much for sharing! 🙂 How fascinating! I’ve never seen a cassette case like that before! Again, it means so much that you’ve shared this with us.

What intrigues me most are the words "Trouble Shooter" on the j-card. Why name it after the first game’s American port? It’s arguably slightly better than the original so maybe you could say the team grew more attached to that name or something, but it’s still really odd to me. Why not "Battle Mania"? Was a very small run of the first game’s soundtrack dubbed as well, and perhaps they reused some extra cases/j-cards? Or maybe Trouble Shooter was the name they always wanted to go with, and it’s just a slapdash packaging job due to the small run? Either way, this is really cool.

Andrew, I would love to hear the story of how you discovered this rare cassette!
