Did Yuna leave Spira or something?

I don’t know if there is more to that universe than Spira, but every time Yuna meets someone from X, she implies that she hadn’t seen them in two years. So where was she for the last two years? Obviously she became a Sphere Hunter somehow, but if she was in Spira the whole time she must have been very sheltered. Did she never leave the ship or something? It seems like she hasn’t spoken to anyone but the Gullwings for that amount of time. I wouldn’t blame her for wanting to stay out of the public eye, though. But how did she manage to hunt spheres without speaking to Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri, Rin, O’aka, the Chocobo Knights, Isaaru, Cid… etc.? And where was she before she joined the Gullwings anyway.

Plot holes are a fickle thing. 😀

I guess this is an example of lazy game design from the boys at Square-Enix.

There wasn’t actually two years between when she left besaid and the beginning of the game. The short feature Another Story that bridges the gap between FFX and FFX-2 (it came with a version of FFX. Can’t remember which) revolves around Yuna finding the sphere that she thinks shows a movie of Tidus while in Besaid. Toward the beginning of the feature Riku mentions that Lulu is pregant, which means there can only at max 9 months between when she left Besaid and the start of the game. Considering Wakka’s lack of concern when she returns, it was probably more like only 1-4 months.

Which is funny considering Yuna was like 17 in FFX, and 19 in X-2. My how time must fly fast in Spira, I would be 30 in a year or two.

Another Story isn’t set right after FFX. There are definitely 2 years between FFX and FFX-2 but there isn’t 2 years between when Yuna joined the Gullwings and FFX-2.

Didn’t Another Story come packaged with FFX: International?

One of the FFX versions, yeah. But that doesn’t imply that it was set right after FFX. In fact, this is an excert from the feature’s script on gameFAQ:

^FADE into Yuna appears with a Yevon drape in the background. Camera zooms
in behind Yuna; she is at the door the Besaid Temple. She walks in. Wakka
and some man are talking to each other. They notice Yuna, and walk over to
her.^

OLD MAN: (awestruck) I saw you from a distance at the stadium two years
ago… but I never thought I’d get to see you in person. You’re as
beautiful as ever… ::sigh::

the squares should do something about this…at least do a website or anything that can get ppl informed. they are such lazy squares…
