i have been waiting to see some posts on here about it, but nothing yet..anybody got any info? any noticable increase in difficulty?..thats all i truly want to know..has anybody played the rerelease and noticed any kind of difference in the difficulty ? because if the monsters are capable of actually winning a fight or 2 against me before i leave the church in the slums is the ONLY way i’d buy it.

reason for asking is because i dont see why square would put a character booster in the game knowing its already easy enough to beat with out even equipping any materia throughout the entire game……thats why i ask…did they make the enemies harder?

I haven’t bought it, but I’ve heard some pretty bad things about it – for starters, it requires a Square Enix Account to use, plus a stable internet connection at all times (because the game uses Cloud Storage for saving – yes, your saves are saved on SE’s server, not your hard drive) – if your connection dies or is interrupted you’re pretty much kicked out of the game.

And when it’s all said and done, this is the original Eidos-published PC title with just bugs fixed (including the notorious Chocobo crash), and a sub-standard MIDI-substitute soundtrack. Even One-Winged Angel lacks the choir!

So yeah, unless you’re either a late comer to the series or only have a modern PC with Vista or Win 7 (which won’t run the original PC version without much hacking/mucking around with workarounds), you’re better off avoiding this.

Enjoying it, can’t find anything to whine about. It’s exactly what I expected it to be, which is how it was advertised, as a re-release of the game.
