Hello,

First of all, sorry for my bad english 😛

In the last few weeks I tried to make a complete score edit for Tyler Bates’ score for Dawn of the Dead (2004).

I discovered that there were still some tracks missing from both promo and retail scores.
(I’m working in the future on these tracks, for example:
• CJ is gathering weapons and ammo before the "Subterrainian Sewer Attack" (track 30) starts.
• After the track "We’re going to the mall" (Nothing more than a little edit from the track "Truck over zombies" that fits in here.)

I used the Theatrical Edition as a reference to create this edit, because I discovered that the Director’s Cut version contained nothing extra than little loops at the end of the tracks to make it longer so that it could fit in the edits of the scenes (Thanks to the gore FX).
This is where I let these tracks unedited from both retail and promo versions.
I’ve splitted some tracks because some of them contained two scenes in one track. Also renamed some tracks.
And for the last, I had to make a choice to go for the retail edit of the track or promo edit for the track, because some tracks were crossfading to the next track, contained a better intro of outro or had more depth in the mixage.

I made my own version of the front cover for the MP3 tag.

I hope you enjoy my version of this great score from Tyler Bates’ Dawn of the Dead!
Don’t forget to say thanks and if you like this edit.

There’s one small cue that I noticed was missing and it would fit right in between tracks 1 and 2. It’s the scene of Sarah Polley’s character checking out the ambulance and then it transitions to the house. A small insignificant cue but just thought I ought to point it out.

Yes, like I said in the first post. There are several parts missing, like the examples that I mentioned earlier.
The one that I try to create now is my favorite part that’s missing: (On the timer of the Director’s Cut – 01:30:43)
The scene that CJ is shooting a canister and gathering some suplies before the sewer attack begins.
Some percussion that leads to track 30 – Subterrainian Sewer Attack.

Tnx for al the replies!

To be honest I was hoping you’d have included the rock/pop songs etc in there as well (Disturbed for example, the John Cheese cover, Johnny Cash, etc) 🙂
