Dark Matter

Go to the Monster Arena. Then, choose one of these three lists. It doesn’t matter which one.

Area Creations, Species Creations, or Original Creations.

Now, fight <I> any </I> monster in these lists. All of these monsters have dropped Dark Matter before. They may not do it often, but they do, eventually.

Or, this is the much more difficult way to go:

Fight the Ultima Buster in the Monster Arena. If you defeat him, he will usually drop Dark Matter (x2)

Are you using my strategy to get them?

1) Blitzball.

Occasionally, and I do mean occasionally, you could win Dark Matter as a blitzball prize. Not very common. A very bad way of getting a lot of Dark Matter.

2) Monster Arena Drops.

Any of the Arena Creations have a very slim chance of dropping Dark Matter after a fight. Luck stat plays no part in the rarity of finding Dark Matter by killing Area Creations. I find Sleep Sprout extremely easy to kill, so he’d be a good choice if you’re attempting to acquire rarely dropped Dark Matter.

3) 99 Free Dark Matter.

Capture five of every fiend in the game and then talk to the Monster Arena owner. He’ll reward you with 99 Dark Matter. Truly awesome, but takes a lot of time and can only be done ONCE. You’ll also unlock Ultima Buster.
