Because we want it. Because we asked for it for several year. Because new master-elements were located – new edition of Batman score is here!
Only new material (film score+bonus tracks) is here. Original album was mastered from digital masters, they were used in new edition again.
Same with Batman Returns.

As I always said – I also want lossless version.
That’s why I bought, buy and (I hope for that) will buy actual CDs.
If you can’t allow to buy actual CD, at least you need to say thanks for all this people here who share music, for which they paid, for FREE.
And as they share all this great albums, it’s their right, how to share – in lossy or lossless.
If someone will share this one in lossless – no problems at all. But for me mp3 is great stimulus for buying actual CD (this happened with me very often)

I’m buying this release, as I buy every release I’m interested in. I would be interested to know if the film version of the Cathedral Chase is correct though. At 1:10 before the big brass section there are a few piano notes in every release that don’t appear in the film.

Just gave it a listen and can confirm it still has those piano notes. Perhaps they dialed down the piano in the film? It’s been so long since I’ve seen the movie, so I don’t remember not being able to hear those piano chords.

It’s worth noting that although the film disc has been remastered, and quite clearly remixed mid-cue from different sources, the main theme (track 1) is not the film version, which is now completely omitted from this new release.

If you listen to the main theme (track 1) you’ll notice at 1:31 there is a slight dischord, which shows that this part of the theme (as some cues are a mix of different sources) is the same recording as the Alternative 2 version (disc 2) meaning it isn’t the film version as heard on track 1 of the original LLL release. The film version has a much deeper organ recorded at 0:40. I checked the wave of both in Audition to confirm this, as I’m a huge fan of this film and the score.

Also, as mentioned before, The film version of Cathedral Chase has never been released. In the film there are no piano notes as heard at 1:10 (track 26).

Just a bit of information for those who are interested in the mixing/mastering process 😉
