Okay, this has been bothering me for a very long time. I want to use foobar as my exclusive program for converting audio files straight to MP3, but I keep running into this roadblock. Every single time that I highlight all the tracks in foobar and go through the Quick Convert menu, it keeps telling me to "Please locate lame.exe" after I select the destination folder. I’ve already downloaded vgmstream and what I believe is the necessary "lame.exe" file from here (http://lame.sourceforge.net/download.php), but still can’t locate this stupid command-line encoder.
This is most likely some inept oversight on my part, yet it’s always best to have more than one set of eyes when analyzing a problem.

Never encountered that error myself, but it seems the software can’t locate "lame.exe"; did you make sure it was in foobar2000’s directory?
EDIT:
You can always setup your own "conversion-settings" and point the software to "lame.exe" (LAME Binaries can be downloaded from RareWares (http://www.rarewares.org/)).

Yeah, I had unzipped the vgmstream and original "lame.exe" files into the components directory, but even then the encoder couldn’t be located.
Turns out that the zip from sourgeforce didn’t even contain the lame.exe file, whereas the Lame download from RareWares was indeed the correct one. They were both the same version (lame 3.99.5), too.
Thanks, everything works perfectly now. Literally spent hours chasing a wild goose.
