Will type up an elaborate post later but for now, enjoy.

Klaus Schulze was one of the original members of the group Tangerine Dream that later started a very long and fruitful solo career composing some of the most interesting ambient/electronic music I’ve ever heard.

Not generally a fan of this style of music, I’m on hour 5 or 6 of listening to his works and I’m without a doubt hooked. There’s dozens of hours of music here to keep you entertained. This isn’t the complete works, but rather half or more of them.

Angst, the only soundtrack of the bunch that I can gather, is worth checking out for sure. If you’ve never seen the film, you really should. It’s not like anything you’re likely to see today. A true gem of the era that’s regrettably often overlooked on any essential horror/thriller movie lists.

After a (typically) brief Hans Zimmer listening session in commemoration of his birthday, I began looking for other German composers to get a little bit of variety in style. I found Klaus Schulze from the film Angst. It took weeks for me to discover his immense collection of works after seeing the film (which disturbed the fuck out of me with its intense realistic cinema verite style) but am I glad that I did. It reminds me a lot of French composer Francois Eudes-Franchault. If you like that electronic style of music, you’re gonna dive right in on this set. If you like Hans Zimmer’s score for Interstellar, you may love this collection as well. The organ is put to some interesting use in conjunction with the synths that simply speak to my soul far more than Interstellar. It’s on a level similar to Philip Glass in my music collection.

It’s taken me days (thanks Time Warner for your fast download/upload speeds) to compile this set and I really hope you enjoy! Feel free to contribute if you like.
