I just saw the update for:
"Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation"
They don’t typically have their own label.
The outsource to other labels.
Is it to include everything on this list?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_20th_Century_Fox_films_(2000%E2%80%93prese nt)#Upcoming_films
And what about old threads?
I notice for rules on banned labels/artists, old threads get neglected and then members get confused why older threads (created prior to the rule) are not pruned and then go ahead and post their own thread anyway (seeing as that older threads still exist).

I’d assume that means anything that is related to them, that they own the master use rights to, which would be the scores to all their films.

I usually delete old forbidden material-related threads (either when I come across them, or users report them to me). I guess I should start deleting stuff like Logan, huh?

Titanic is owned by Fox, by the way, so that will NEVER get posted here now.
I would also play it safe and assume music from the original Star Wars can’t be posted either, since Fox still has its fingers in that pie in perpetuity with regards to distribution.

Meh. This "addition" is another reason it would be far safer (and faster) to close that section of the forum.
Crappy timing for this big-name ban, as far as I’m concerned, good thing that those that tend to help me the most with reports know where else to find me.

Only Episode IV would fall under the "permanently owned by Fox" category, since V and VI (as well as the prequel trilogy) will go to Disney in a few years. Thus, I’d more recommend removing stuff related to that particular film only. Wouldn’t want a whole thread deleted from just one item.

Man, this is a huge paradigm shift. Individual labels, I can understand, but a company that’s not actually publishing the music? I could get behind a rule banning any commercially available music, especially if it’s still in print, but unreleased music from a whole distributor?

Which is whay I said "original Star Wars". The other seven films are not the original.

In reality though, the music, starting this year, is now owned and distributed by Disney so I dunno if that’s a loophole.

You said it yourself, Einstein: others will go to Disney in years, we can’t afford to risk having those around here for years, now, can we? Thus, the whole thing will get deleted, even if there’s only one item wholly owned by them, that’s final (better to be safe, than sorry).

I’ve just realised this also means if one of my personal animated holy grails ever gets out it can never be posted on here. Ah, well. Shit happens.

Let’s not forget the Web is big and the Shrine never was the first stop for movie scores and the likes. "Awesome" stuff which found its way here mostly came from somewhere else. Your holy grail will show up, eventually.

If anyone wouldn’t mind explaining to me how these cease and desist orders from certain music labels/companies keep targeting this site, I would really appreciate it because I just don’t understand it. For example, if they already know that their music is being posted here then why would they bother issuing a warning about it? Also, as other members have noted how odd it is that a major film studio is now issuing a music ban, is there any possibility that this is an elaborate stunt by a disgruntled exiled forum member to cause mayhem on the shrine? I know that sounds farfetched but it is possible someone could have created an official looking fake document and sent it to the shrine. Maybe!?? Either way this is very shitty news! Thank you in advance for your help.
