I would, but then that would be repeating stuff you can already find on the web…and typing for an hour…and there are so many choices to make…

So, check out either GameFAQS or Allakhazam…they’re pretty much your best bets for basic info.

Really the only thing to say is if you’re going for a magic user don’t pick Galka or Elvaan, if you’re going for a fighter don’t pick Taru.

Other than that the differences in races are small enough that they can easily be overcome depending on the skill of the player and the equipment you’re using.

Ok well guys can you at least tell me what are the most common races and jobs around? I mean what most people are… I assume the majority would be right.

I was thinking of being a Black Mage and tarutaru… any thoughts?

What jobs are Humes best suited to by the way? thanks.

No, those are fine, but probably not for your first job as that race. =\

This game isn’t well balanced at all, but it’s not balanced job wise. You can basically pick any race and make them as good (or at most only slightly worse) than a race thats supposed to be more suited for the class.

Humes can pretty much do anything. But so can every other race.

Well, basically, what they said.

If you want to be a "good" Galka White Mage, for instance, you need some accessories that might be out of price when you’re starting the game, such as astral rings.

But Crayzieman pretty much pointed it out. Tarutarus, for instance, may statistically be much better for Mages, but the right equipment and superior skill from the player really make the biggest difference.

I’d always take a skilled, well-equipped Galka White Mage over a gimped, unskilled Tarutaru White Mage, any day.

So yeah, a Tarutaru is a good race choice for Black Mage, most likely the best, but in the end it is YOU that will determine how good the Black Mage will be.

EDIT : Oh, as for your question regarding Humes…They do good at ANY job, they’re just not the BEST in them. Although I believe they are the best Paladins, but Crayzieman believes otherwise…you’d see why in one of this forum’s thread. Also, you’d think that this would make them the best Red Mage as well since that job is the jack-of-trades coupled with the jack-of-trades of races…however, this isn’t really the case, as you realize the more advanced you get as Red Mage the more magic-oriented you become and the less melee-oriented you are…Although, one Red Mage once said a very funny quote : We may not be Red Warriors, but later on we become WARlocks…;)

Mithra have the best speed or so ive heard, but my mithra seems to not be any better at anything than any other job. mine seems to be like a hume, average in evrything. but apparently they make bad Beastmasters..? i never wanted to be one tho

As strange as it may sound, Mithras have low CHR, so that’s why they make bad BSTs.

If you’re really not sure, just go hume. If you like hot cat girls, be a mithra. If you like cute little midgets be a taru. If you want to be a big scary dinosaur, be a galka. If you’re into fantasy LOTR crap, be an elvaan.

As for a class, choose whatever works for you. Try out different things to see what you’re good at and what you’re comfortable doing.

And just to clear up, low CHR doesn’t make a "bad" Beastmaster. Just like galka mages and taru melee, sexycats need to buy the appropriate gear taru make up for it. Easily done, too, since BST ish a relatively cheap job, equipment-wise. :3

well me personally I chose a TaruTaru which is really good for magic. So if you want to be a mage then this is the way to go.

One more thing, you cant really mess up wichever character you choose =)

And one more thing, when you buy a character, you create it, yeah. What youbuy is a Content ID, so if you don’t like your character, just delete it and replace it by a new one. But of course to send all the money and equip to the new character, buy a second ID, create the new character, send all the stuff with the old one, and when you are done, delete the old character and cancel its ID. Only one ID left atthe end, with your new character, and the same mnthly fee. ^^

So if at the end you decide you don’t like the character you have, just make a new one!
But sad is, you will have to start from level one again 🙁
