well… not really. If they were made up NOW then they’d be made by Square-Enix BUT at the time of them being created they were made by the loverly people at Squaresoft, unless it was called something else before that

Chocobos where first sighted in ff4….. i think. Or was it 2? I like what square(whatever) did with em. making em do something worth while into knights was kinda cool.

Well when you think about it an egg sounds most reasonable. Considering that all birds (Flying, Non-Flying and Swimming) come from eggs, why not chocobos?
