I only found out about Square Enix’s new movie, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children today…needless to say it’s got me slightly excited. Here’s a little poem I wrote from Cloud’s point of view, as he stands in the Church in the slums of Midgar…

So i’m taking a little poetic license…but what’s a poem if not poetic?

EDIT: Comments! Please!

Child of Memories

The darkness in my heart is spreading
Drowning the sorrows of an age gone by
From the light of her eyes leading
To a place where my hope will die.

I stand in this place and remember
Your laughter, your beauty and grace
I stand here and feel my soul render
Destroying all I have to face.

How long before the battle wanes?
I have suffered too long this existence.
Now losing you was all in vain
Sors, immanis et innanis.

Our fates once again entwine
Him myself the evil inside.
The eyes burning veheminti
Mori facias let me die.

The great sword stained with blood
Can no longer be laid aside
The life of he who I destroyed
Is now stealing the life of mine.

Aeris, my light, my gemma pretiosa
Where are you now?
Aeris, my lost, my virgo gloriosa
Come find me now.

He haunts my steps.
Gloriosa, generosa
He stills my pride.
Gloriosa, generosa

Who are you?
Sephiroth

Who am I?

Who am I?

Sephiroth

That’s really nice. Especially the Latin phrases intervowen with the English. Well done ^^

I have to admit, Lee, very good use of the lyrics from One Winged Angel. Makes it kinda creepy cause I can hear the song in my head while I’m reading the poem, and really brings up the level of anguish that Cloud seems to be feeling. Very well done
