Characters?

I’m a bit confused with how the character system works in this game. Is it best to level up every character and use them all based on their abilities, or is it best to pick 3 and use them mainly?

I would try to have one main team and have the rest not as strong but not totaly underleveled, because if your main guys get killed you have to rely on the second string to either get out of that area or finish the fight in their place

I had a first party lv 70 and 2nd party lv 15, but this wasnt really working for me so I got basch up to lv 45 ftom 15, so now hes my back up to revive one of my main party members and then they do the rest

Using the same characters most of the time will allow them to level more quickly, but don’t neglect your backup team either. For example: if your main party dies, you can shuffle in your other characters and make a quick retreat/finish the battle.

It is possible to finish the game with three characters only, though. It’s really a matter of preference.

Agreed. The important thing to note is that there isn’t actually any situation where the game forces you to use a particular character or set of characters.

I leveled all of mine to around 85, but that’s because I didn’t want to do my summer school homework. 🙂

Actually, I could never choose if I wanted Ashe or Penelo, Basch or Vaan, etc. I ended up using Basch, Balthier, and Penelo most of the time. (They’re my *dream team*!)

Awesome, thanks. I’m playing the game over from a corrupted file, and I was sick of training all six characters, so I was wondering if I could train just three after I had access to all six. I really appreciate you mentioning this.
