So it’s officially out, and damn I want that music. Anyone got/getting?

Okay, seriously, what the hell is it about the new remixes that you people don’t like, huh? explain! And none of that "Oh, cause they don’t sound like the original" that’s kind of the freaking POINT!

I actually want to hear the new music myself… So, anyone got a rip?

The remixes themselves aren’t always bad (the Sand Zone remix is my favorite, and they’re all very well done), but there are actually legitimate issues (http://www.giantbomb.com/cave-story/61-20124/cave-story-wii-having-sound-issues/35-395808/) with the new music.

I’d still like a rip or, better yet, an official soundtrack.

Well, if it’s just Moonsong, I can help you there.
A while back (like, probably a year back), Nicalis released a download for the new "Moonsong". More recently, they also released "Onto Bushlands", which is the remix of "Onto Grasstown", on their website.

For future reference, I’m pretty sure that song is "Plantation".

Now, to wait for someone to rip a faithful version of "Last Cave" and "Scorching Back" (i.e. the music of Egg Corridor?).

You’ll have to make do with the original soundtrack for the time being.

And you know, for having flaws, the remixes are really, really good. I just got to fight the Core, and ‘Geothermal’ plays right before the fight. Has to be my favorite track on the original soundtrack. The remix? Still dark and moody.

They really did a good job with the audio. It’s not butchered at all…it’s just….different. I (and most likely, those who downplay the remixes) am still used to the original music, that’s all. It’ll just take some getting used to.

That said, having the remixes triggered by a simple on/off choice before you start playing is wonderful. Nicalis, let’s see the same love for La Mulana!

I haven’t played the original game but today I had been playing the WiiWare version for 3 hours and something and I didn’t noticed any sound issues.

I second this.
