I really got burned on this one. $90 for 3 songs! So I will not be getting OST 4 which also has only 3 songs.
So I’m putting the word out: I will be incredibly thankful if someone would buy Vol 9 and uploaded it, I just want the song from when Hana uses her livelaster for the first time, I hoping it’s in OST 4.

Wow what!? Now that is a real scam. 90 bucks sounds a lot for a single person (though I was sure they were like 70 bucks at most looking on the net). I will be willing to donate if somebody is willing to buy it.

Curse these damn bonus cds instead of proper soundtracks! It’s all well and good if the show is popular but when it flops we have a problem.

The anime wasn’t bad though. Since it is getting a game it seems it had decent results at least. I’d have to re-listen to the currently released OSTs but it seems some tracks are still missing, meng!!!

No…….it had REALLY bad sales. Less than 1,000 units per volume. That’s just an utter failure. Especially when you consider the fact the show had a big animation budget. They didn’t make ANY money back lol.

Actually that was my mistake. I was thinking about Coppelion which was the biggest stinker that I’ve ever seen. Captain Earth did actually sell around 2,000 units for it first volume but over time it only averaged around 1,000-1800 which is still pretty bad. 3,000-4,000 units is usually the breaking middle ground point where the anime would have sold enough to warrant a continuation since no money was lost or gained (and it obviously has interest in the community). But when you factor in that Captain Earth had a huge animation budget there is no question the project was failure especially in comparison to Star Driver which most of the staff worked on previously and was a big hit.

Well reading it seems that a lot of series did worse overall only the universally good ones (SAO, Gekkan Shojou, etc.) sold high. Surprised that Chaika didn’t sell as much since it was fairly popular around a lot of pple disappointed with CE wanted Chaika from Bones. Checking that list I’d say it still did decently, sort of. Besides iirc didn’t they host some events? Also there was this Concept Book too, prolly they made some money from there too.

The animation budget was no doubt high because the visuals were gorgeous, not sure how much the other stuff costed. Without having real numbers I cannot factor how good or bad they truly did, we can only guess.

At least the OST were gorgeous, sad that the last two seem to be rather small in content? Even so I’m willing to donate if needed for the last one. I’d have to recheck the content but there are two tracks I cannot find so far:

1) A Piano track that plays in tense moments (it is used regularly)

2) The track that plays when the Midsummer Knights enter the Coccoon.

Hopefully they are available, they are amongst my favourites.
