Can I play ‘Zelda: Four Swords’ with someone using a DS link cable?

If the only systems either person owns are a Nintendo DS, and they want to play ‘Four Swords’, the multiplayer game packaged with ‘A Link to the Past’, is this possible to do using a DS link cable? I’ve owned the game for probably six years and never had anyone to play ‘Four Swords’ with, meaning I was never able to experience any of the additional content implemented into the main game. What looks like a brand new dungeon exists in the Pyramid, on a platform that previously (on the SNES version) held nothing. A shop in Kakariko Village carries this Golden Bee that I’m unable to buy, and have found no way to achieve it. I’m intrigued by all these new elements, and as I LOVE exploration in that game, I’ve been itching to somehow be able to do them ever since I picked it up for GBA. And someone once told me you must achieve something of high status in ‘Four Swords’ in order for these features to be accessible.

There is no such thing as a DS link cable. You can play GBA games on a DS, but there is no capacity for a link cable. MKS, I think you’re answering a different question.

Quote from the link:

Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite: The Nintendo DS uses wireless technology to play DS Game Cards in multiplayer mode. While the Nintendo DS can play Game Boy Advance games in single player mode, the DS does not have a port or other circuitry for a link cable, thus it is not possible to play Game Boy Advance games in simultaneous multiplayer mode on the DS.

Yea, there’s a thing you can buy to hookup your GBA to Gamecube and play your GBA games on the big screen, which I think sounds like an AWESOME idea, but sadly I never got to try it out 🙁 I’m not sure if the multiplayer capabilities would still be possible using this, but somehow I’ve got to try out ‘Four Swords’! I wanna play that, and I wanna see what all this new content in ‘Link to the Past’ is! It’s always been one of my favorite games of all time, and the new stuff for GBA has piqued my interest ever since I got it. Imagine sitting there having to urinate for six years and never being able to; that’s about what it’s been like not being able to get into this game’s bonus content :O

Dang :O Well, I’m sure an extra GBA wouldn’t be too expensive to pink up nowadays.

if you have a DSi, you can’t play GBA games on there, don’t forget.

I have a DS Lite and so does the other person. Luckily, those will play GBA games, but I could’ve sworn there was a DS link cable :O Ahh, to be so misinformed..

If I’m not mistaken, and I probably am, the DSlite is supposed to sync up with your friend’s DSlite, as long as you’re like 20 feet away…. I think.

Nope, you’re right 😉 That’s one of the coolest things about it!! There’s even a chat feature on there where you can beI’m pretty sure you’re righttwenty feet apart and be able to either type, or draw messages back and forth. It is the coolest added feature in a game system ever!

I remember my car was pretty full with me and a few friends while heading to the casino. We had one of my friend’s in the trunk and with his DS, him and one of my friends in the back seat were chatting back and forth.
