Pavane for a dead princess, Ravel

Ravel was rather prickly about his music, including the Pavane which he insisted be played as the pace it was written. Most took the title (which was made up after the composition was complete for lack of any other title) serious and would drag the music out. Ravel grumbled, "It is called Pavane for a dead princess, not dead pavane for a princess."
