Hello buddies.
I’m not new to the vgm world, but i haven’t bought a single OST to this day, but I wish to.
So, can anyone give me some hints, or point me to some thread that might help me out with starting my VGM collection?

My usual VGM suppliers are:

otaku.com
cdjapan.co.jp

…..and there’s always Ebay for the occassional OST that’s hard to find elsewhere.

My favorite will always be Otaku, since they’re the most trustworthy in my opinion, plus they help you out by sending it as a gift. I’ve NEVER had to pay additional import charges when I order soundtracks from their site.

Others well known sites are:

Yesasia.com
Playasia.com

Thanks for the reply, MCGlynn.

Yes, thats pretty much what I want to know (for starters). Imported stuff gets quite expensive here ’cause of absurd taxes, so any tricks like the gift package would help out greatly!
What else should I watch out for (never bought anything outside my country beside books from amazon) ?

Games that have popularity in America are starting to get some exposure on places like iTunes and Amazon. It’s nice that’s it’s becoming a recognized genre. But some of that may be because the quality is starting to rival that of traditional film soundtracks.

If you’re already familiar with importing books from abroad then importing CD’s isn’t that much different. I always make sure not make big orders. It’s better to order separate small orders then one huge order. If that huge order gets picked up by customs then you can be sure you’re going to have to pay the big bucks. Sometimes it can’t be helped though, like when you wanna order some big soundtrack boxset.

Other then that it’s probably better to ask other people who live in your country, because they might have some more useful tips. It’s reasonably easy to import to my country, but it might be different in Brazil. I know there there are probably a few shops/eBay sellers that don’t send their wares to Brazil.

I see. Guess I have I know a feel ppl that buy stuff abroad, but not a single one (as far as I know) that buys VGM. Shouldn’t be hard to find though. Thanks a lot, man.
